Tough season for Idéfix 1
Assen – After a decent win last time against Dokkum, it was a different time yesterday in Assen versus Assen 3. Three of the six players of Idéfix were outside the province of Groningen, so this time it was the debute of Stanley Grootbleumink to show off his high spinny topspins. Maartje Veenhoven was also called to play, but rather not, because of a high intense internship week and every time player Eelke Cramer made the team complete.
For Stanley it was his first experience in the Northern first division, meaning every ball he played was coming back to him resulting in some nice spin rallies, especially in the first match against Melvin van Kralingen. In his own saying it was his best match of the day. He fought but couldn’t win points for Idéfix.
For Maartje it was a tough day to play because of an intense week she was not available to reach her full potential, resulting in zero wins in her singles, but to end positive she did win the doubles match together with Eelke against Andries Cats and Merijn Smid.
Eelke is at the moment the balanced factor and won against Andries and Merijn. Melvin was the man of the match because he was just unbeatable and on fire.
Three points back to Groningen. Next week we are at our strongest because both Nishanth and Kotaro (all the way from Japan) are back to fight for Idéfix!
